Microsporum canis. Cultivation on selective, modified (cycloheximide, chloramphenicol) cinnamon agar at 25 °C. Fast growing (already after 7 days mycelium of 1 cm ø), flat colonies with white to yellow ("canary yellow"), velvety, centrally fluffy surface and fine, yellowish peripheral radiating ring. In older cultivations often brownish, granular decayed colonies predominate.
