Microsporum audouinii. grown on selective modified (cycloheximide, chloramphenicol) crested agar at 25 °C. Slow growing, radiating, flat, dense, white to grey or slightly brown colonies with blurred continuation of the edge or radial furrow. Surface appears velvety or furry.
Microsporum audouinii. underside of crop: yellowish-orange to reddish-brown colour.
Microsporum audouinii. irregular filamentous match hyphae. sporadically tennis racket hyphae and comb hyphae. hardly any macroconidia or microconidia.
