Pityrosporum. microscopy native ("tesa break"):Pityrosporon spp. is the only human pathogenic yeast species which can be diagnosed already in native microscopy. Between the keratin scales of the stratum corneum the typical dimorphic picture of "spaghetti and meatballs" (spaghetti and meatballs) is shown. In the network of numerous hyphal fragments (mycelial phase) frog spawn-like conglomerates of spherical (pityrosporon orbicular) spore accumulations (yeast phase) are found.
