Lindemayr, walther

(¤ 1939, † 2010) Dermatologist. Walther Lindemayr was born in Vienna as the youngest son of a Viennese middle-class family. Graduated from high school in Vienna in 1939. Began studying medicine in Vienna in 1939. Conscription to military service in 1941. He was temporarily assigned to a student company so that he could study in stages in Freiburg, Vienna, Tübingen and Danzig. 1946 Doctorate in Vienna. 1947 Start of dermatological assistance at the 2nd University Dermatology Clinic in Vienna. 1951 appointed 1st assistant and representative of the clinic director.1954 habilitation; 1961 appointed full professor. 1961 Appointment to the board of the skin department of the Wilhelminenhospital in Vienna. He held this position until his retirement at the age of 65. His successor was Prof. Wolfgang Jurecka. The scientific focus of Prof. Lindemayr was on allergology, phlebology and venereology.
