Jordan, paul

(¤ 1902, † 1975) Dermatologist. Born in Moscow in 1902 (father was full professor of dermatology at the II University Hospital in Moscow), he began his medical studies in Hamburg in 1920. From P.G. Unna and E. Arning aroused his interest in leprosy at an early age. In 1929 he moved to J. Jadassohn in Breslau. From 1932 to 1934 Jadassohn arranged a research position for him at the Kaiser Wilhelm Society in Sao Paulo. The subject of the research work: "Cultivation of leprosy bacilli". 1935 Return to Germany. For 12 years, until 1951, he worked as an assistant and later as senior physician with P. Mulzer at the University Dermatology Clinic in Hamburg. In 1951 he followed A. Marchionini to Müchen. In March 1953 he was called to the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. Further research focuses were skin tuberculosis and dermatohistopathology.
