Exclamation mark hairs. reflected light microscopy (Alopecia areata in a 10-year-old girl): Short hair stumps with hair shaft narrowing after proximal and punctiform fracture at the end. furthermore, single comedo-like hair remains (points noir), so-called cadaver hairs, and some persistent lighter hairs are visible.
