Survey picture: Multiple, densely seeded, whitish-yellowish papules with surrounding redness in the neck of a 25-year-old man. The presence of a pseudoxanthomaelasticum could be excluded clinically and histologically.
Incident light microscopy (detail enlargement): Whitish, poorly structured areas (elastosis) with discretely indicated hair-staldehyde follicle ostia in the centre are surrounded by reticularly interwoven ectatic capillaries of the subepidermal, horizontally running plexus.
