Acronym for Disabilitly-adjusted life years. The Global Disease Burden (GBD) 2013 study has collected data on the worldwide prevalence of the 306 most important diseases. The burden of disease was then

• Disabilitly-adjusted life years (DALYs)
• Life lost to a disease(YLLs)
• Years lived within disability(YLDs)

subdivided. One DALY therefore corresponds to one lost healthy year S.a. under dermatoses). It is made up of the sum of the years of life lost through death (YLLs) + the years of life lived with illness/disability (YLDs).

For dermatological diseases the following frequencies of DALYs were found:

• Dermatitis (atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis): 0,38
• Acne vulgaris: 0,29%
• psoriasis vulgaris: 0,19%.
• Urticaria: 0,19%
• Viral diseases: 0,16%
• Dermatomycoses: 0,15
• Scabies: 0,07%
• melanoma: 0,06%
• Pyoderma: 0,05%
• Cellulite: 0,04%
• Carcinomas of the skin: 0,03%.
• Decubitus: 0,03%
• Alopecia areata: 0,01%
• All other skin diseases taken together: 0,12%.
