Clear cell acanthoma, broad, sharply separated, reticularly branched, acanthotic epithelium with large, bright epithelial cells, strong parakeratosis over the bright cell zone.
clear cell acanthoma. image section with the "typical" epithelia characterized by a "water clear" cytoplasm. centrally located, relatively chromatin dense nuclei, also giant nuclei. no increase in the rate of mitosis.
Clear cell acanthoma: Transition zone to normal skin (left picture): Broad, acanthotic epithelial band with a sharply contrasted area of large epithelia with water clear (PAS-positive) cytoplasm and a small centrally located nucleus.
