Acronym for "Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index".

Detailed score to classify the disease activity of cutaneous lupus erythematosus. The CLASI considers both the anatomical region (e.g. face, chest, arms) and the clinical morphology such as: erythema, scaling, dyspigmentation, scarring. The CLASI also distinguishes between activity and damage of the disease. Since not all subtypes of CLE can be assessed with the help of the CLASI, it was revised in 2010 and further symptoms were added as RCLASI ("Revised Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index").
