Chronic cheilitis as a monosymptomatic "minus variant" of atopic eczema or as a partial symptom of generalized atopic eczema.

Rough, reddened, tense lips, painful when ingested with acidic food and drinks, with erosions, loose and tightly adhering scaly deposits, rhagade formations (mostly in the middle and/or corner of the lip)

Rarely smallest blisters.

The symptoms often lead to compulsive constant licking of the lips, which initially brings relief by moistening, but in the long term leads to a worsening of the symptoms.

Oily nourishing external products (e.g. Rolip Mandelic or Rolip Emulsion, Bepanthen Lip Cream, Ceralip Lip Cream, Vaselinum album, Lanolin DAB).

In the weeping, chapped stage of chilitis, moist pads with antiseptic or anti-inflammatory additives such as 1% chlorhexidine or 2% dexpanthenol;

alternatively: as a moist pad: black tea

alternatively: short-term fat-moist treatment with thickly applied glucocorticoid-containing ointment such as a 0.5% hydrocortisone ointment(hydrocortisone cream 0.5-2.0%), or a methylprednisolone aceponate ointment(e.g. Advantan Fatty Ointment); on top of this moist pads (fat-moist!).
