Alternariose, cutaneous. culture top: cultivation of Kimmig agar at 25 °C. Fast-growing (3-7 days), flat, white-grey to green-black or olive-brown cultures with tree-ring like concentric structure and central furrow and powdery or felty culture surface.

Alternariosis, cutaneous microscopy of the culture: numerous, strongly branched hyphae; club-like conidia sometimes sit in rows on short conidiophores; the dense septation of the hyphae (garden wall) is a characteristic of Alternaria spp.
