Triticum vulgare germ oil unsaponifiables (inci)

Triticum vulgare germ oil, the wheat germ oil, consists of the extract of wheat germligen (Triticum aestivum/vulgare). The oil, which is obtained for cosmetic purposes, can be extracted from the wheat germ buds by squeezing, as well as other methods (e.g. using solvents). Triticum vulgare germ oil unsaponifiables consists of the residue of the wheat germ oil which remains as unsaponifiables during the saponification of the oil fatty acids.

Triticum vulgare germ oil unsaponifiables is used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as an emollient (makes the skin smooth and supple), hair conditioner (makes the hair easier to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume) as well as skin protecting and caring.
