Tallowamide dea (inci)

Tallow amide DEA describes amide compounds of diethanolamine(DEA) and tallow fatty acids which are used in cosmetic formulations. They act as emulsifiers (surface-active substances which are used as additives in cosmetic formulations for the emulsification of 2 immiscible liquids - e.g. (e.g. oil and water - to form an emulsion), emulsion stabilizer (supports the formation of emulsions and improves the stability and shelf life of emulsions), surfactant (washing-active substance; improves the even distribution of the products during application), viscosity regulator (increases or decreases the viscosity of cosmetic products) and as foaming agent (increases foam formation and improves the volume, structure and stability of the foam).
