Tallow amines are tallow fatty acid amines which are used in cosmetic formulations (see also tallow). They act as emulsifiers (surface-active substances which are used as additives in cosmetic products in order to combine two immiscible liquids - e.g. oil and water - into an emulsion) and as surfactants (washing-active substances which improve the even distribution of the products during application).
