Sodium polymethacrylates (inci)

"Sodium" refers to the element sodium. Acrylates are polymers or copolymers based on acrylic acid and/or other alkyl acrylates (acrylic acid esters). Methacrylates are polymers or copolymers based on methacrylic acid and/or its esters.

Sodium polymethacrylate is a substance used in cosmetic preparations and acts as a binder (binds cosmetic preparations containing powders and powders), viscosity regulator (increases or decreases the viscosity of cosmetic products), film former (forms a film on skin, hair or nails), emulsion stabilizer (supports the emulsion formation and improves the stability of the product) and opacifier (reduces transparency and light transmission by clouding the product).
