Pvp/va copolymer (inci)

"PVP" is the acronym for polyvinylpyrrolidone, a plastic produced from vinylpyrrolidone building blocks, "VA" is the acronym for vinyl acetate, "copolymer" a polymer usually consisting of 2 monomers.

The PVP copolymer is used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, for example of hair), hair conditioning agent (makes the hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume), binder (provides the desired cohesion) powder, powdery or creamy products, prevent solids and liquid components from separating), and as a film former (forms a film on skin, hair or nails when applied) and as a viscosity regulator (increases or decreases the viscosity of cosmetic products).
