Pvp/eisosene copolymer (inci)

PVP" is the acronym for polyvinylpyrrolidone, a plastic produced from vinylpyrrolidone building blocks, 1-eicosene is an unsaturated hydrocarbon with the linear formula: CH2=CH(CH2)17CH3, "copolymer" is a polymer of mostly 2 monomers.

The PVP copolymer is used in cosmetic preparations, such as sunscreen products, to improve water resistance. Contact sensitizations against the polymer have been reported.

The mixture acts as a binding agent (ensures the desired cohesion of powdery, powdery or creamy products, prevents the separation of solids and liquid components), hair conditioning agent (makes the hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume), Antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralising the electrical charge on the surface, for example of hair) and as a film former (forms a film on skin, hair or nails when applied), viscosity regulator (increases or reduces the viscosity of cosmetic products).
