Ppg-2 isodeceth-9 (inci)

PPG is the acronym for "polypropylene glycol", the polymer of propylene glycol (1,2-propanediol), a dihydric alcohol. The number after "PPG" indicates the average number of propylene glycol molecular units, for "PPG-2" this is 2 propylene glycol molecular units. "isodeceth-9" denotes a PEG ether of isodecyl alcohol. The number 9 indicates the average number of integrated polyethylene monomers "-CH2-CH2-O-".

PPG-2 isodeceth-9 is used in cosmetic formulations. The mixture of substances has skin caring effects and acts as emulsifier (surface-active substance which is used in cosmetic formulations as an additive to combine 2 immiscible liquids - e.g. oil and water - into one emulsion).
