Pinus sylvestris cone oil (inci)

Pinus sylvestris cone oil is an essential oil from the cones of "Pinus sylvestris" of the common pine (Scotch pine), a conifer from the pine family that grows to a height of 40m. Pinus sylvestris is native to Russia, Finland, Norway and the USA.

The extract contains: pinene, carene, dipentene, lime, myrcene, camphene and others.

Pinus sylvestris cone oil is obtained by steam distillation from pine cones. It is used in cosmetic formulations. Pinus sylvestris cone oil has a masking effect (reduces or inhibits an undesirable inherent odour of the product) and a perfuming effect (improves the smell of a product and/or perfumes the skin).
