Phytosteryl macadamiate (inci)

"phytosteryl" means a derivative of a (soya) phytosterol, "macadamiate" means an esterification product of macadamia oil fatty acids The macadamia oil fatty acids consist to a large extent of palmitoleic acids. The melting point of phytosteryl macadamiate is close to body temperature. Thus, formulations with Phytosteryl Macadamiate can be applied easily and evenly.

The substance is used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as a hair conditioning agent (makes the hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume) and as a skin care product (keeps the skin in good condition).
