Palmitoyl quinoa amino acids (inci)

"Palmitoyl' means the univalent radical which, derived from palmitic acid (hexadecanoic acid), is characterised by the loss of the hydroxy group, 'quinoa amino acids' means a mixture of amino acids from Chenopodium quinoa (quinoa), the 'rice spinach' native to South America.

This mixture of substances is used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, e.g. of hair) and as a hair conditioning agent (makes the hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume).
