Palm kernelamidopropyl betaine (inci)

Palm kernelamidopropyl betaine is the reaction product of carboxylic acid derivatives from palm kernel oil with betaine, also known as glycine betaine, a derivative of the amino acid glycine which is a by-product of sugar production from sugar beet molasses (Beta vulgaris, hence "betaine").

The mixture of substances acts as surfactant (washing-active substance/improves the even distribution of the products during application), antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electric charge on the surface, for example of hair), substance with cleansing effect, hair conditioning agent (makes the hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume), foaming agent (increases the foam formation and improves volume, structure and durability of the foam) and as skin care product.
