Methylsilanol acetylmethionates (inci)

Methylsilanol acetylmethionate is a substance used in cosmetic substances. The substance acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface of, for example, hair), skin care and hair conditioning agent (makes hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume).

Silanols are derivatives of silanes. Silanes are silicon compounds and can be regarded as "silicon homologues" of alkanes based on a carbon skeleton. In silanols, one or more hydroxy groups are bound to a silicon atom. Silanols can therefore be regarded as silicon analogues of alcohols.
