Methyl benzoates (inci)

Methyl benzoate is used in cosmetic formulations (benzoate denotes a caproic acid methyl ester, hexanoic acid methyl ester, methyl caproate, methyl hexanoate microorganisms in cosmetic products and preserves them).

The framework conditions for preservatives that may be used in cosmetics are defined in the EC Cosmetics Regulation (1223/2009) Annex V.
