Isopropyl lanolate (inci)

Isopropyl lanolate is the solid higher molecular fraction of isopropyllanolate, which is produced by esterification of the natural fatty acids of wool wax with isopropyl alcohol.

Isopropyl lanolate is a non-greasy wool wax product that softens and softens the skin and is used in formulations of cosmetic preparations. Isopropyl lanolate is insoluble in water and partially soluble in acetone and ethanol. Although its own W/O emulsifying power is low, it shows good compatibility with emulsions of this type, especially when small amounts of cetyl alcohol are added.

Use in: hand creams, cleansing and sports creams. Isopropyl lanolate is a good lubricant in lipsticks. It has a film-forming effect.

The allergenicity of isopropyllanolate is estimated to be low.
