Hydrolyzed serum protein (inci)

Hydrolyzed serum protein, contains hydrolyzed serum protein, which is used in cosmetic formulations.

The hydrolysate acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static electricity by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface of e.g. hair),skin care and hair conditioning agent (makes hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume).

Cosmetics with protein hydrolysates are generally well tolerated. Isolated cases of contact urticaria have been described (Niinimäki A et al. 1998).
