Dimethyl tallowamine (inci)

Dimethyl tallowamine(tallowamine = a bovine tallow derivative) is used in cosmetic formulations. The substance acts as an emollient (makes the skin supple and smoothes it), emulsifier (changes the interfacial tension of liquids like water and oil so that they can be mixed together), antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electric charge on the surface of e.g. hair) as well as hair conditioning agent.

Tallowamin, also known as tallow fatty amine oxethylate or tallow amine (the basis is beef tallow), is a non-ionic surfactant and a mixture of acylated amine ethoxylate polymers of different lengths. Tallowamin belongs to the fatty amines.
