Summation anaphylaxis T78.0

Form of anaphylaxis in which patients only react with anaphylactic symptoms when a combination of various co-factors, e.g. effort, medication or stress, coincide with certain otherwise tolerated foods (see below food-dependent effort induced anaphylaxis). In rare cases, anaphylaxis only occurs when 2 different co-factors interact, e.g. sport and infection, infection and medication.

The prototype of a summation anaphylaxis is the"food-dependent exertion-induced anaphylaxis". Alpha-galactose syndrome is also considered to be summation anaphylaxis.

Therapeutically, in addition to the prescription of an adrenaline autoinjector for emergency medication, the focus is always on the elimination of food allergens.
