Occurrence in cosmetics and food. In the technical field sodium benzoate is used as corrosion inhibitor. The DKG had previously tested the substance 5% in Vaseline. This formulation is no longer available in Germany. Therefore, recommendations have now (as of 2016) been made for a 2% application form in Vaseline.
