Polcalcine

Panallergen (like profiline) which is responsible for multiple pollen sensitization and additionally for cross-reactions between pollen, food and latex. Polcalcines are Ca++-binding allergens . They are, as the name suggests, only expressed in pollen. Their exact biological function is not yet known. It is possible that they play an important role in pollen germination.
