Locus -Locus control region here using the example of the beta-globulin gene cluster and its regulatory regions. The beta-globulin locus contains the various beta-globulin-like genes in sequence (yellow), while the DNase-I hypersensitive sites (HS1-5) act as insulator or locus control region.
