Moderately lightfast, water-soluble green food additive (E 142) used for colouring foodstuffs (e.g. green colour in canned peas), confectionery, beverages, ice cream, cosmetics, wool, leather, plastics and paper. Green S, has hardly been toxicologically investigated. The substance is not absorbed in the intestine.
