Bearded oils

Beard oils are beard care products that are gaining in importance due to the increasing fashion of beard wearing.

Beard oils often contain natural oils such as almond oil, jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, rose hip seed oil, argan oil, but also silicone oils and paraffin oils.

Furthermore, beard oils mostly contain fragrances of different provenance and type. As for the fragrances, citral, citronellol, cinnamal, farnesol, geraniol, oakmoss, coumarins, eugenol, cashmeran are frequently used as for other cosmetics.

Furthermore, beard oils may contain phthalates, e.g. diethyl phthalate, diison nyl phthalate (DINP) as plasticizer.

Bacteriological screening showed that bearded animals did not show a higher bacterial colonisation than clean-shaven animals. An analogous result was obtained in a bacteriological examination of bearded surgeons compared to clean-shaven surgical staff.
